# Commands & permissions

Work Orders is built to run **without commands** — players assign jobs by crafting and handing over Work Order items. The one command is for admins.

## Command

| Command                                   | Aliases | Description                                                      |
| ----------------------------------------- | ------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/workorders <reload \| status \| spike>` | `/wo`   | Reload the config, show plugin status, or probe native AI goals. |

* `reload` — reload `config.yml` without a restart.
* `status` — show managed-golem counts and plugin health.
* `spike` — diagnostic probe of the native copper-golem AI goals.

## Permissions

| Node                       | Default | Grants                                               |
| -------------------------- | ------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| `workorders.admin` | op | Manage Work Orders; bypass ownership and job gating. |
| `workorders.job.courier`   | true    | Assign the Courier job.                              |
| `workorders.job.stoker`    | true    | Assign the Stoker job.                               |
| `workorders.job.restocker` | true    | Assign the Restocker job.                            |
| `workorders.job.janitor`   | true    | Assign the Janitor job.                              |
| `workorders.job.sorter`    | true    | Assign the Sorter job.                               |
| `workorders.job.farmhand`  | true    | Assign the Farmhand job.                             |

{% hint style="info" %}
Per-job permissions let you gate specific jobs behind a rank or region. Job gating is enforced only when `gating.require-permission` is on — see [Configuration](/machina-docs/workorders/configuration.md).
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://machina-1.gitbook.io/machina-docs/workorders/commands-and-permissions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
